The Hypothermic Trip

48 Hour Film Festival

We had an AVAILLL challenge to create pictures, subtitles and a movie in 48 hours. We split into 2 teams . One team did "Cat in the Hat", the other team did "Green Eggs & Ham". 

Stand in Black

We created a 'Stand in Black' video.

We want to win the first prize of $5000 worth of Adidas gear and a visit from some All Blacks.

Remembering Kristen

Today is a sad day for us. It is the day one year ago that our friend and classmate Kristen died.

Yesterday we had a special memorial service beside her Kowhai tree, followed by a shared morning tea.

Some of us were brave enough to share our memories of Kristen.

A Gold Medalist Visited Us.

On Tuesday 13th September we were lucky enough to have a visit from a gold medal winning skydiver. Ann Beckitt has won 2 gold medals for freestyling skydiving. She showed us her jump suit and her equipment. She told us how much it hurt to skydive through cloud that had snow, hail and ice inside it. She had done around 2000 jumps, but none in New Zealand!

The Great Sport Robbery

We went to see the play "The Great Rugby Robbery".

We decided to create our own versions with different sports!

Food for Fuel

Jacob was our body model!

We placed the different organs in the right places - most of the time.

Then we learnt how different foods help all those different organs.

Peace Week

We like peace week. Sports4Peace was the theme for the week.
On Tuesday we played tabloid sports altogether.
Wiki played the frisbee game.
Alexis played the bean bag and the bucket game.
On Friday we all dressed in white. White is the colour of peace. Cheyenne face painted our cheeks with the peace symbol.

Room 9 Happenings
It's a busy couple of weeks working in the classroom learning loads of new things.
This week in particular has been busy.
We have had the following:
Sebastian's Birthday
The PTA Cup
My Tag My Town Show
The Working Bee on Saturday 25th June.

The PTA Cup.
10 of us went to play in the hockey tournament. It was held at Matamata College turf.
We played our best and came second.

My Tag My Town Show
Ken and Evie from Mish Mash TV came and presented a show that taught us RAK's and caring for our environment.
A RAK is a random act of kindness.
The dog was particularly naughty and had to learn to be nice.

Rippa Rugby

On Tuesday 31st May Te Poi School got to be part of the Project Energize Rippa Rugby tournament. That left only 4 of us in class. We made leaf streamers and got to play Maths games on the computers. We also learnt how to update our blog!!!
